***MEDIA ALERT***MEDIA ALERT***MEDIA ALERT*** Underground Artist Railroad seeks to bridge the past, present and future with tour from Atlanta to NYC

Atlanta, Ga.- Offering aspiring southern artists the opportunity to showcase their talents for major label A&Rs, magazine editors and celebrity bloggers in New York City, Atlanta-based public relations firm DGPR gears up for its Underground Artist Railroad tour. The journey begins in Atlanta when 10 artists board Amtrak trains for a 17-hour trek to the Big Apple.

Themed after Harriet Tubman’s historic Underground Railroad system where she bravely led countless slaves to freedom in the North, the Underground Artist Railroad seeks to liberate minds, educate artists on the music industry and make an undeniable mark in history via an artist showcase in NYC.

“I crafted the Underground Artist Railroad after Harriet Tubman because she made trips into realms of the unknown,” says DGPR president Don “Ghotti” Pitts II.

Much like the cost of freedom in the days of old, there is definitely price to pay in search of dreams but the case is less costly today. Following in the footsteps of courageous freedom fighter also known as “Moses of her people,” Pitts hopes he can make his undeniable mark in not only music and entertainment but African-American history.

“Most of these artists would never go to New York under any other circumstances,” Pitts explains. “Of course, our journey will be nowhere as dangerous what she did but we intend to keep her spirit alive by paying homage to her.”

Major label recording artists and other industry tastemakers will board the train at various cities along the way to share insight into the music industry and answer questions. After arriving in New York, artists will perform in a showcase for major label A&Rs, magazine editors and celebrity bloggers.

Launching the company earlier this year with offices in New York and Atlanta with operatives across the country, Don Ghotti Public Relations firm was created by Pitts as an inexpensive resource for aspiring artists. “I started this company and orchestrate events like this because I want to empower people,” says Pitts. “I got tired of seeing people ripped off so now I am doing something about it.”

DGPR INC ROAD TRIP to MIAMI 8/29 [RECAP]

DGPR INC ROAD TRIP to MIAMI 8/29 [RECAP]

The Road Trip to Miami Florida evoked nostalgic feelings as if I'd been in this caravan of recording artist before in a past life. The fellowshipping of like minds on the same path of greatness made me think the days of Motown with greats like Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, & The Temptations trying to find themselves on the Chitterling Circuit. DGPR, Inc's own DCYanni & I [Don Ghotti] were accompanied by recording artist Gage [New Orleans], L-Marr the Great [Dayton OH], The Real Thirteen[Macon], Ricky Brown [Compton], etc.

The showcase took place at The new Triple Shades Studios in North Miami, Florida. There were 20+ artist on the bill including the recording artist we brought. Tikia Douglas [Miami] of DGPR, Inc met us at the venue and ensured that our recording artist were early in the line up. Gage took to the stage first and showed the crowd no mercy as he ripped right into (4) four edgy records. His deep Ja Rule-esque voice added credibility to his edgy New Orleans based rhymes. Next up The Real Thirteen dove right in with Lyrical Flavor and catchy punchlines. He started off with a slow record that built in tempo and took the Miami crowd by total surprise. Females rose their drinks and danced uncontrollably to "Off the Wall". Next up was L-Marr the Great who was introduced as "Lamar" lol. Nevertheless L-Marr picked up where The Real Thirteen lefted off by catering to the ladies with "Model Chick". He didn't forget the fellas by provided a Punch line rich Acapella Freestyle that left the crowd with the "screw face".

The night ended after approximately 17 more recording artist totally ripped the stage.
The heavy weed smoke is still evident as I write this piece wearing my "Dominican" Adidas Jacket. The drive back had me dying laughing as life stories, industry stories, & jokes were exchanged. This was definitely a trip I wish more recording artist could have taken advantage of.
We will be conducting more trips in the near future so please subscribe to this blog for direct E-mails when this info becomes available.

I leave you with some quotes from (2) two of the recording artist from the DGPR, Inc roadtrip.

@LMARRSTATUS - "Your network is your net worth.how else can you build if you don't go get it? Miami showed much love.shout out to Don Ghotti & the plush beds at the hotel! already!"

@therealthirteen - "That was a trip I'll remember forever. Besides Miami and the exposure, the knowledge you get from traveling with other professional artist is priceless! The road trip there and back was the best music industry 101 class I've had! Plus studio time is already booked with a couple of artist on the trip."
